JOHN DICKSON & SON 12-BORE '1887-PATENT ROUND-ACTION' TRIGGERPLATE-ACTION EJECTOR, serial no. 4219, 28in. nitro replacement barrels, the rib engraved 'NEW BARRELS BY. WILLIAM POWELL & SON. 35 CARRS LANE. BIRMINGHAM.', and with acanthus scroll detailing and a '1' at the breech-end, barrels serial numbered 15104, 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. 3/4 and full choke, (bore measurements marginal in both), Dickson patent round-action incorporating patents 9399 and 10621 of 1887, use number 238, automatic safety (stiff) with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' detail, treble-grip action, the fences with banded borders, plain action and furniture except for a scrolling banner engraved 'JOHN DICKSON & SON PATENT.', brushed bright finish throughout, 14 1/2in. figured pistolgrip stock (cracked at hand, chequering completely worn), including horn pistolgrip cap (chipped) and 3/4in. rubber recoil pad, fore-end wood worn smooth and with recess forward of knuckle, weight 6lb. 3oz.
